2-day conference at Carlton Hotel that brought together field expert from around the globe to identify critical building blocks of an enabling regional ecosystem through a multitude of panel discussions
CITI-SMU FINANCIAL LITERACY SYMPOSIUM
Event was graced by Dr Mohamad Maliki Bin Osman, Mayor of South East District, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Foreign Affairs. I facilitated a panel discussion and prize presentation.
SOCIAL ICON 2018
Flagship one-day conference that celebrates women and their innovations in 4 key areas of society: education, environment, employment and economy. Facilitated panel discussion and Q&A sessions.
FINTECH: AN ISLAMIC PERSPECTIVE
This symposium brought together Islamic speakers who are established in the FinTech field to discuss how Sharia Law views Fintech developments and its implications for the Islamic community.
THE TRIBE HAS SPOKEN
A part of the “Left Brain Right Brain” series, the discussion focused on raising awareness and appreciation of ethnic and cultural identities. I introduced the speakers and facilitated the audience interaction.
EDUCATION LEADERS’ SYMPOSIUM
Brought together educators, mainly comprising of principals and JC teachers, to convey SMU’s teaching pedagogy to them. I shared my personal anecdotes with the audience and introduced speakers.
TAX ALUMNI NIGHT
A friendly environment for tax faculty, alumni and students to network and interact. I conducted an inter table game show which involved extensive audience interaction.
SMU INTERFAITH SHARING
A collaborative event by religious institutions from SMU and NUS, provided a platform for inter-religious dialogue. This event was graced by Mdm Rahayu Mahzam, Member of Parliament, Jurong GRC.
ASOC SENIORS’ NIGHT
A farewell ceremony where graduating students interacted with the current faculty and students. I introduced various performers and conducted a award ceremony.
SMU CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORKING NIGHT
Created a relaxed atmosphere where industry professionals interacted with university students and expectant graduates. I introduced speakers and led a panel discussion.
VANIGAVETTAI SYMPOSIUM
Organised by the Tamil Representatives Council, this event gave young entrepreneurs the opportunity to pitch their business idea to a panel of investor-judges.

NATIONAL DAY OBSERVANCE CEREMONY
For the 2nd consecutive year, I hosted this upbeat celebration of Singapore’s 53rd birthday. I led the Singapore pledge, sang national day songs, introduced performers and conducted a lucky draw.
SMU FAMILY DAY
A fun, light-hearted carnival that brought together family members of SMU staff. This event required significant bantering and audience interaction. Graced by SMU President, President Arnoud De Meyer.
SMU SKATATHON
A marathon skating enthusiasts and professionals to compete across 3 categories: 5km, 21km and 42km. The event contained a multitude of stalls and performances. I conducted the lucky draw where over 30 prizes were given away.
STARRYNITE XXVIII
A celebration of music, the event was a night filled with performances. Given the long setup, tear down time, I interacted extensively with the audience and interviewed various performers.
MOVIE UNDER THE STARS
A charity initiative by students from St Margaret’s Secondary School, they screened the Avengers: The Infinity War. Given the family audience, I created a friendly and relaxed environment.
SMU ARTS FESTIVAL OPENING CEREMONY
A celebration of the arts, the opening ceremony featured a contemporary dance piece commissioned by SMU. Due to wet weather, there was an hour’s delay in programming, which required significant bantering.
THE STAGE @ JERICHOS
Celebrates music by bringing together aspiring artists from all walks of life. Due to the setup and tear down time required for each performance, the show called for extensive bantering.
BINGO @ FRY
Held weekly at the rooftop bistro and bar with a relaxed and laid back atmosphere. I conducted the Bingo segment with significant audience interaction given the intimate setting.

TANGS ROADSHOW
Launched 3 watch collections; Luminox’s ICE SAR Arctic 1000 Series, Arbutus’ 1804 Series and Edox’s limited edition Sharman II Series. Given the high weekend traffic at the Tangs Plaza there was extensive audience interaction. Additionally, I facilitated a military trivia for the roving audience.
GRAVICAL
Streamed live on Youtube and Facebook, this was a 4 days long national rock climbing competition, attracting climbers and international route setters from around the world. I provided live commentary and conducted the prize presentation ceremony.
SINGAPORE STREET FESTIVAL OFFICIAL MEDIA LAUNCH
Held at Bugis+ Mall, the event was graced by Mr Melvin Yong, MP for Tanjong Pagar GRC. The yearly event offers the opportunity for youth to showcase their diverse talents, skills and capabilities.
SINGAPORE STREET FESTIVAL: ASIA GLOBAL BELLYDANCE COMPETITION
I was called back to host this competition where I introduced the various bellydancers and commented on their performance. I also conducted the prize presentation ceremony and interviewed the judges.
SICS DAY
This event brings together over 23 Special Interest and Community Service clubs. With fun games and activities SICS Day aims to increase club sign ups. I gave multiple booth shout-outs and engaged the roving crowd.

SMU IVORY KEYS REMINISCENCE:
KLAVIER UND STREICHER
Held at Esplande concert hall, this double billed concert showcased pieces from the 18thcentury and even recent movie soundtracks.
TAAL: DHARMA
This was an annual drama production by the Indian Cultural Society. I did voiceovers for the show and conducted the curtain call segment.
GAYA
This Indonesian musical was a 2-night event that followed the journey of a young prince and his struggles to rise to the throne. I conducted the curtain call and did multiple voiceovers.

DEEPACHUDAR DEEPAVALI CELEBRATION
Hosted this annual celebration for the 2nd consecutive year. I conducted a lucky draw, an audience quiz and introduced various performances. This event was graced by Ms Indranee Rajah, Minister, Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister for Finance and Education.
HENDERSON-DAWSON 53RD
NATIONAL DAY DINNER
With over 1000 guests in attendance, this event was a grand celebration of Singapore’s 53rd birthday. I introduced various performances, conducted the lucky draw segment and facilitated a fashion parade. This event was graced by Ms Joan Pereira, Member of Parliament, Tanjong Pagar GRC.
“FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS” DEEPAVALI CELEBRATION
This is an annual event that brings together members of the Tanjor Pagar GRC Community to celebrate Deepavali. This event was graced by Mr Chan Chun Sing, Minister, Prime Minister’s Office and Secretary-General, National Trades Union Congress (NTUC).
HENDERSON DAWSON DEEPAVALI
ANG PAO RATION DISTRIBUTION
Called back for the 2nd consecutive year, this annual event brings together less privileged residents in the area to provide them rations and monetary aid for the holiday season. This event was graced by Ms Joan Pereira, Member of Parliament, Tanjong Pagar GRC.
EMBRACING PARENTHOOD
Embracing Parenthood is an initiative launched by People’s Association that brings together families form the same neighbourhood with children under the age of one. I introduced various speakers and conducted games to interact with the kids.

BURSARY AWARDS
I hosted the event bilingually in English and Tamil. Notably, Vasantham, the local Tamil channel, was there to cover the event. In 2019, the event was graced by Mr Chee Hong Tat, Senior Minister of State for Ministry of Trade and Industry and Ministry of Education. In 2017, he Minister of State, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Information and Communication, Dr Janil Puthucheary, graced this event as our GOH.
SINDA EXCELLENCE AWARDS
With over 1000 guests in attendance, this award recognized Indian students excelling across various institutions in Singapore. This event was graced by Mr Heng Swee Kiat, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance.
TAN TOCK SENG HOSPITAL
CHEQUE PRESENTATION CEREMONY
Held to celebrate Mr Mok Siew Cher’s million dollars donation to Tan Tock Seng Community Fund, the charity arm of Tan Tock Seng Hospital. The event was graced by Mr Desmond Lee, Minister of Social and Family Development and Second Minister for National Development.
PRIMA LIMITED & SMU
GIFT SIGNING CEREMONY
Prima Limited launched the Prima Ceylon Scholarship with a fund of $2 million to aid incoming Sri Lankan undergraduates to pursue their degree. His Excellency Nimal Weeraratne, High Commissioner of Sri Lanka, graced this event.
SMU PATRON’S DAY
Held in carnival style, this is an annual celebration of SMU’s birthday was graced by President Halimah Yacob. I introduced performers such as Sam See, Joanna Dong and Charlie Lim.
ACADEMIC YEAR OPENING CEREMONY
Hosted this event for 2 consecutive years, with about 500 guests comprising SMU Board of Trustees, senior management, faculty, staff, donors, alumni, freshmen and student leaders were treated to a sit-down dinner, interspersed with student performances
COMMENCEMENT 2018
Hosted this event for 2 consecutive years. Over the course of 3 days, I hosted various post-graduation ceremonies. I introduced the speakers and facilitated the execution of various commencement traditions such as the celebratory toss and the tassel movement.
EDUSAVE AWARDS PRESENTATION CEREMONY
Called back 2 years to host this event, I read all the recipients names and facilitated a discussion among award recipients’ parents. This event was graced by Ms Joan Pereira, Member of Parliament, Tanjong Pagar GRC.
VIVACE 2017 CLOSING CEREMONY
As SMU’s annual CCA fair, Vivace brings together more than 100 student clubs to proudly showcase the best of student life that SMU has to offer. I conducted a sponsored stage game, promoted various CCAs and introduced their performance.
ASSOCIATION OF SINGAPORE
TAMIL WRITERS (ASTW) 40
This tri-university initiative was held to celebrate ASTW’s 40 years of history in growing the local Tamil writers community. I conducted games, unveiled the new brand logo and introduced stage performances.

SINGAPORE CANCER SOCIETY:
TALKMED RELAY FOR LIFE
Taking place for the 2nd year, SCS Relay for Life served as a platform to raise awareness about cancer and raise funds to support the works of SCS. I interviewed Benjamin & Narelle Kheng, Olinda Cho, various MediaCorp artistes, DJs from UFM 100.3 and DJs from OneFM 91.3. The event was graced by the President of Singapore, Mdm Halimah Yacob.
IMH DEEPVALI CELEBRATION
Held at the Institute of Mental Health, this event was an opportunity for patients to get together and enjoy of night of celebration and fun. I introduced performers and interacted with the audience.
SMU-ERNST & YOUNG ACCOUNTING IMMERSION PROGRAMME
Launched by SMU in partnership with Ernst & Young to provide keen pre-university students with a first-hand and immersive experience in discovering more about SMU life, the accountancy degree and the accounting profession. I facilitated a panel discussion.
TAX CASE CHALLENGE
As the flagship event of SMU Tax Society, this event is held in partnership with companies such as Deloitte, Ernst & Young, KPMG, CPA Australia, IRAS and PwC. Participants work as a team to solve cases that simulate the conditions of the working world.
MIND THE GAAP 2019
Organised by Deloitte, this 2-day event gave potential accounting students an in depth understanding of life as an accountant. I conducted the case competition and facilitated the prize presentation.
NSMEN EARLY MATRICULATION EXERCISE
The NSMen Early Matriculation Exercise is a yearly event held to entice incoming freshman that just finished army to join SMU. Hosted this event for 2 consecutive years.
POST GRADUATE WELCOME DINNER
Held at Carlton Hotel, this event brought together over 700 post graduate students across various programmes in SMU for a night of fun and bonding.
LIT HACKATHON
This inaugural hackathon required participants to combine legal and technology expertise to solve current issues. The event was graced by Justice Lee Seiu Kin.
SMUSA GENERAL ELECTIONS
As a lead up to SMUSA’s general elections, this event was a sit-down interview with some of the candidates running for elections. Given the conversational nature of this event, it required significant improvisation.
GSP MIX & MINGLE
This event brings together summer exchange students and creates a friendly environment to mingle. I facilitated games and introduced them to various places in Singapore.
SMU IB DAY
This event was held to welcome International students to SMU and help them integrate into the SMU ecosystem. I shared personal anecdotes with students and introduced speakers.
LKCSB DISCOVERY DAY
With nearly 1000 potential students in attendance, this event was aimed to give students and parents an understanding of the SMU’s teaching pedagogy
DESTINATION: SMU (LEE KONG CHIAN
SCHOOL OF BUSINESS)
Destination: SMU (LKCSB) aims to make a final pitch to candidates who have been offered a place in the BBM programme to convince them to accept our offers to them. I introduced various speakers and shared my experiences in SMU with the audience.
SMU OPEN HOUSE
This annual event is an important event in the school calendar as it showcases SMU’s many facilities and programmes to prospective students. As an emcee, I introduced speakers for the faculty talks and CCA performances.
LKCSB ACADEMIC BRIEFING
With over 400 students in attendance, the event served as briefing for incoming freshmen. I introduced various speakers and kept the audience energy high despite the informative nature of the event.
ECONOMICS (OIKOS) CAMP STARSTRUCK
A 3 day camp for incoming freshman, I conducted a modelling competition and pie-eating contest between the clans. I hyped the crowd, welcomed speaker, gave sponsor shout outs and did voice-overs.
ACCOUNTING SOCIETY (ASOC)
FRESHMAN CAMP
A 3 day camp for incoming freshman, I hyped the audience, conducted the closing ceremony and prize presentation.
STARRING ORIENTATION CAMP
Starring Orientation involved welcoming freshman to the camp, introducing the speakers and voice-overs to introduce the various clans. I also conducted the closing ceremony.
